MARINE COMMUNICATIONS (VHF-SRC)
This course provides VHF Radio and SRC training for the entire spectrum of VHF radio communications for recreational and professional boating
You can take this course in two parts: Starting out online and then attend an in-person assessment at our centre in Royal William Yard, or take the whole classroom course and assessment in one day
You must be 17 years or older at the time of the assessment
Students learn how on board radios and handheld radios, EPIRBs, SARTs, AIS and DSC-enabled radios, are used effectively in marine communications. VHF covers the training recommendations contained within the WRC-12 Resolution 343 for SRC for NON-SOLAS Vessels

The IYT Marine Communications course (Very High Frequency – Short Range Certificate) is designed to ensure a thorough understanding of maritime radio communication at sea.
